The principle and application of weighing sensors
A weighing sensor is a conversion device used to convert weight or pressure signals into electrical signals. The weighing sensor adopts a metal resistance strain gauge to form a measurement bridge, which utilizes the principle that the metal resistance wire elongates and becomes thinner under tension, and the resistance increases, that is, the effect of the metal resistance changing with the stress (strain, which is the change in size)
The construction principle of weighing sensors. Metal resistors have the property of obstructing the flow of current. Generally speaking, the thinner the metal wire, the higher its resistance value. When a metal resistance wire is stretched or contracted by external force, its resistance value will increase or decrease within a certain range. Therefore, when the metal wire (or film) is tightly attached to the object being measured, and the object is stretched or contracted by external force, the metal resistance wire (film) will also expand or contract proportionally, and its resistance value will change accordingly. A weighing sensor is a device that measures weight signals by attaching metal resistance strain gauges to a metal weighing beam.
Electronic scales are mainly composed of load-bearing transmission systems, weighing sensors, and display instruments. They have the advantages of fast weighing, intuitive display, and low wear and tear, and are widely used in many fields. However, long-term operation can easily cause damage to the weighing sensor in the electronic scale, resulting in inaccurate measurement results. So if the electronic scale shows the following phenomena, it should be suspected that it is a malfunction of the weighing sensor:
1. The electronic scale does not display zero and the display screen keeps flashing.
2. After the electronic scale displays zero, when adding weights, the weighing number will not be displayed.
3. The electronic scale is not accurate in weighing, and the displayed weighing number is inconsistent with the number of weights added.
4. The repeatability of electronic scales is poor. When the same weight is added, sometimes the weighing is accurate, and sometimes the weighing is inaccurate.
5. When the electronic scale is unloaded or loaded, the displayed numbers are unstable, drift or jump.
