Description :
Rubber insulation board is a closed cell elastic insulation material made mainly from nitrile rubber and polyvinyl chloride, through mixing, compounding, and high-temperature foaming processes. It mainly solves the problems of cooling capacity loss and heat dissipation during the operation of air conditioning refrigeration systems, hot water pipelines, and building walls, effectively preventing condensation on the surface of pipelines. This material has the characteristics of low thermal conductivity, high moisture resistance factor, and excellent fire resistance. It is widely used in the insulation of central air conditioning ducts, water pipes, and industrial equipment insulation layers, and is an indispensable basic building material in HVAC engineering.
In terms of specifications, rubber insulation boards usually have a standard length of 10 or 20 meters, a width of 1 meter, and a thickness covering various specifications such as 9mm, 13mm, 15mm, 19mm, 25mm, 30mm, etc. They can be customized according to engineering needs. The material density is generally between 40-60kg/m ³, with excellent flexibility and tear resistance. The executive standard generally conforms to the national standard Flexible foam Rubber and Plastic Thermal Insulation Products (GB/T 17794), the combustion performance reaches the B1 level flame retardant standard, the oxygen index is ≥ 32%, and the smoke density level is low, so as to ensure that the fire can be delayed in the event of a fire and ensure the fire safety of the building.
When selecting, the thickness should be determined based on the temperature of the pipeline medium, environmental humidity, and anti condensation requirements. For chilled water pipes, it is recommended to use rubber insulation boards with a thickness of 19mm or more; Hot water pipes need to be selected with a size of 25mm or thicker according to the water temperature. Compared with glass wool, rubber insulation boards have better moisture resistance and do not require additional vapor barriers, making construction easier; Compared to polyurethane, it has a higher fire rating and is easier to form. Not suitable for high-temperature pipelines with long-term working temperatures exceeding 105 ℃, and not recommended for use in strong acidic and alkaline corrosive environments. Special corrosion-resistant insulation materials should be selected for such working conditions.
Before installation, it is necessary to ensure that the surface of the pipeline is clean and dry. When applying special adhesive, it should be evenly applied to the joints of the board and the surface of the pipeline. When the adhesive is dry and not sticky to the hands, it should be quickly adhered and firmly pressed to prevent delamination. The seams should be staggered to avoid continuous seams, and all gaps should be sealed with matching tape. During daily maintenance, it is necessary to regularly check whether the insulation layer is damaged, aged, or peeled off, especially for outdoor exposed parts. It is recommended to install aluminum or galvanized iron protective layers to resist ultraviolet radiation, extend the service life of the rubber insulation board, and ensure long-lasting and efficient insulation effect.
