Description :
Ball ring packing is a type of annular packing with equal height and diameter openings. It is based on the Rascal ring packing and has windows with inward extending tongues on the ring wall. Each layer of windows has 5 or more tongues, and each tongue is bent inward towards the center of the ring. The positions of the upper and lower layers of windows are opposite and staggered. Generally, the opening area accounts for about 30% of the total area of the ring wall. Without increasing the surface area of the packing, the flow of gas-liquid two-phase in the packing layer was greatly improved, and the fluid dynamics and mass transfer performance of the packing were enhanced.
Due to the numerous window openings on the ring wall of the Bao'er ring packing, the gas and liquid inside the packing tower can freely pass through the window openings. Therefore, the distribution of gas and liquid in the packing layer has been greatly improved compared to the Rascal ring, especially the inner surface of the packing ring is easily wetted by liquid, allowing the inner surface to be fully utilized. Therefore, compared to Rascal ring packing, Ball ring packing of the same material and specifications not only has greater throughput capacity and lower pressure drop, but also improves the separation efficiency of the tower and increases operational flexibility. Under the same pressure drop, the processing capacity of Bao'er ring packing is generally increased by more than 50% compared to Rascal ring packing; At the same processing capacity, the pressure drop of the Ball ring packing is only half of that of the Rascal ring.
