Ceramic packing step ring is a new type of high-efficiency annular perforated packing, with a height of about half the diameter. One side of the ring has a conical flange, and four high holes are evenly distributed on the ring wall. Ceramic step rings have also changed the habit of equal ring height and diameter for Raschig ring fillers, reducing the height of the ring, thinning the material thickness, and adding a flange at one end of the step ring. Due to the addition of a flange at one end of the stepped ring packing, not only can the mechanical strength of the packing ring be increased, but also the symmetry of the packing structure is disrupted, thereby increasing the probability of orientation during packing placement. Due to the influence of flanging, the contact between the packing rings during packing changes from linear contact to point contact. In this way, not only do the gaps between the packing particles increase, reducing the resistance of gas passing through the packing layer, but these contact points can also serve as gathering and dispersing points for the liquid flowing along the packing surface, thereby promoting the surface renewal of the liquid film and improving the mass transfer efficiency of the packing. Therefore, the performance of ceramic step ring fillers has been further improved compared to ceramic ball rings. Ceramic step rings have excellent acid and heat resistance, and can withstand corrosion from various inorganic acids, organic acids, and organic solvents except hydrofluoric acid. They can be used in various high-temperature situations and have a wide range of applications.
