Generally speaking, designs with shells are superior to designs without shells; In terms of weld design, efforts should be made to avoid stress on the weld seam as much as possible. In unavoidable situations, it is necessary to verify the strength of the weld seam, especially the fatigue strength. Minor cracks caused by fatigue are an important cause of moisture ingress and sensor failure. The reason why the welding sealed sensor of an international brand mentioned earlier has a short service life on site is due to excessive reliance on welding sealing. The internal strain gauges are only sealed with a thin layer of adhesive. Once the weld seam cracks, the sensor quickly fails under the action of moisture. In terms of sealing materials, it should be noted that sensors that can pass the IP67 half-hour immersion test may not necessarily pass the 12 cycle wet heat test in the sensor standard. It should be said that the humidity and heat test specified in the sensor standard is more in line with the environmental requirements for sensor use, and its severity is not lower than IP67. Due to price competition, many sensor manufacturers have removed protective casings, especially for pull sensors.
