5.1. The original and replacement indicating instruments shall have calibration certificates traceable to national standards and providing calibration results in basic units of electricity (volts, amperes). The calibration range of the replacement indicator instrument should not be smaller than the range when used together with the force gauge, and its resolution should not be lower than that when used together with the force gauge.
5.2. The unit of measurement and the type of excitation source for replacing the indicator instrument should be the same as the original indicator instrument.
5.3. The uncertainty of each indicator instrument (original and replacement) should not affect the uncertainty of the entire combination of force measuring instruments. The recommended replacement indicator instrument has an uncertainty greater than 1/3 of the overall system uncertainty
6. Analog instruments
The markings on the analog instrument scale should be uniform and consistent, and the width of the pointer should be approximately equal to the width of the markings. The resolution (r) of the indicating instrument should be determined based on the ratio of the pointer width to the distance between the centers of two adjacent scale lines (scale spacing). The recommended ratios are 1/2, 1/5, and 1/10. When the scale spacing is not less than 1.25mm, the placement time can estimate 1/10 of the scale dial division value.

8. The minimum value of the measuring range of the force gauge should not be less than 2% of the maximum value of the measuring range
The force measuring instrument should be placed for a sufficient period of time under calibration conditions to ensure that its temperature is the same and stable as the temperature under calibration conditions. The recommended placement time for force measuring instruments is no less than 8 hours.
During calibration, there should be no vibration, impact, electromagnetic field, or other interference sources around that affect the calibration results.
4 Preheating
Before verification, the corresponding variable force measuring instrument (or other force measuring instruments with power supply system) should be powered on and preheated. The preheating time should comply with the manufacturer's regulations.
Note: The manufacturer does not specify a preheating time for force measuring instruments, which are generally preheated for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
10. Loading conditions
The installation of the force measuring instrument should ensure that its main axis and the loading axis of the force base (standard) machine are not at a critical angle
The pressure measuring instrument should generally be equipped with upper and lower pressure pads. The supporting surface and bottom surface of the force measuring instrument should be smooth, with rust, scratches, and debris.
Suitable connectors should be used at both ends of the tensile force gauge to ensure that the force base (standard) machine can safely apply axial force to the force gauge.
Verification equipment
The extended uncertainty of the force value of the force base (standard) machine or loading device used to calibrate various levels of standard force measuring instruments should be more than three times better than the long-term stability or indication error index of the tested force instrument.
Verification of the metrological performance of 11 force measuring instruments
Install and adjust the force measuring instrument to its working state.
For a dial gauge type force gauge, adjust its indicator device to zero (or use it as the starting position for zero); For equivalent force measuring instruments, the indicator device should be reset to zero (or the reading value of the indicator device should be recorded at zero load), and the loading and unloading should be slow and smooth, without any impact or overload (the same below).
The force measuring instrument should be preloaded with at least 3 rated loads in a given manner, and the holding time for each rated load should be between 30s and 1min. After the preload is completely removed each time, wait for at least 30 seconds for it to return to zero, check the zeroing status of the indicator device, and adjust the zero point as needed.
The primary load for verification is generally 10% to 20% of the rated load, and the verification points should be evenly distributed as much as possible, generally not less than 8 points. When the verification value is less than 10% of the full-scale force value, the two verification points of 5% and 2% of the full-scale force value should be selected.
Verify point by point in the order of increasing load. After each level of load is added, hold for a certain period of time (usually 30 seconds) and record the reading value cloud until the rated load is reached. According to the requirements of the inspection unit, the force measuring instrument that needs to undergo process calibration shall be calibrated for the return value point by point according to the decreasing load, until it returns to zero load. At least maintain the zero reading value after reading. If necessary, the zero point of the indicator device needs to be readjusted.
