distributora wide variety
There are various types of liquid distributors with different structures, which can be divided into several categories according to different methods:
According to their usage, they can be divided into universal and special universal types.
According to the driving force of liquid flow, it can be divided into pressure type and gravity type.
According to the method of liquid outflow, there are mainly orifice flow and weir flow, as well as capillary flow, thin film flow on the guide plate, etc.
According to the structural shape, common types include tubular, groove, disc, and combination.
Dier Chemical Packing Co., Ltd. in Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province, is a manufacturer of three major materials: metal packing, plastic packing, ceramic packing, and tower internals distributor. Our company has signed long-term technical cooperation agreements with more than 10 domestic chemical research units for many years and has hired senior technical management personnel from Tsinghua University and Tianjin to provide product design, processing, production, installation, and after-sales service. Let me introduce these four types of liquid distributors:
Tubular liquid distributor
This type of distributor has the advantages of simple structure, easy processing, small space occupation, easy support, and low cost. However, its distribution quality is generally worse than that of a disc type, and its operational flexibility is relatively small.
Single layer tubular liquid distributor
This distributor is equipped with several distribution branches on the main pipe, with two rows of spray holes at the bottom of each branch pipe, as shown in the following figure:

This type of distributor is mainly used for situations where the reflux liquid is pressurized and the operating elasticity is low, but the disadvantage is that the operating elasticity is small.
Double layer tubular liquid distributor
This distributor adopts a double-layer and multi row tube structure, which is a two-layer distribution tube structure.
The horizontal main pipe of the distributor is a square tube, divided into upper and lower channels by a 3mm thick middle partition. The liquid distribution branch pipe is divided into two layers, with each layer's branch pipe connected to the corresponding upper and lower channels of the horizontal main pipe. The elasticity of this distributor can reach 8:1, and it takes up less space and is easy to install.
Jet liquid distributor
The structure of this distributor is very compact, and it can cover a large tower section with only a few nozzles.
The liquid passing through the nozzle is sprayed onto the top surface of the packing layer in a conical shape under the pressure inside the pipe, so the liquid spraying area of each nozzle is much larger than the drip area of a distribution point in the perforated pipe distributor.
It can provide a larger airflow channel, allowing for higher liquid spray density, a larger liquid spray area, and easy replacement of corroded components.
Disc type liquid distributor
Perforated disc distributor
The perforated disc distributor is a type of distributor with uniform distribution performance among all distributors. However, due to structural limitations, the airflow channel, support ring, support beam, etc. need to occupy a certain space, which affects the reasonable setting of the liquid drip point.
The perforated disc distributor can handle large flow rates with a spray density of 75m3/(m2 · h). At the same time, it also has gas-liquid separation and does not interfere with each other; Advantages such as greater operational flexibility.

Weir disc distributor
The weir disc distributor can overcome the disadvantages of easy blockage and corrosion of the holes on the disc, which affects the distribution. The problems it brings are that the gas-liquid flows in the same channel in reverse flow, the two-phase flow interferes with each other, the load is mutually restrained, and the load is allowed to decrease.
Trough type liquid distributor
The distributor has a large airflow channel, reaching up to 55% of the tower cross-section, which is between the upper limits of tubular and disc types; The structure is relatively simple, compact, takes up little space, is easy to support, and has a lower cost than disc type. However, it is more difficult to evenly arrange the drip points of this type of distributor than a disc type distributor, and the achievable drip point density is also lower than other forms of distributors.

Weir trough distributor
The weir trough distributor has some characteristics of weir flow: it is very reliable to operate and rarely causes blockage of the discharge port, so the distribution quality is stable. It not only has a high operating elasticity ratio, but also has a wide flow range, small space occupation, easy support, and lower cost compared to orifice disc distributors.
Slotted distributor
The layout of the slot type distributor is similar to that of the weir type distributor.
Special requirements for liquid distributor
The three basic types mentioned earlier, if there are special requirements, such as high operational flexibility required for batch distillation towers and multi-purpose packed towers, special design of the distributor must be carried out.
High operating elastic liquid distributor
Multi layered
Multi layer hole slot distributor distribution unit structure
This is a schematic diagram of the distribution slot unit structure for three types of stepped hole slot distributors. This type of distributor is beneficial for the uniform distribution of liquids. To maintain the uniformity of the flow rate at the high and low hole openings, the holes in the upper layers of the slots shown in (b) and (c) should be larger than those in the lower layers.
Double layered weir trough liquid distributor unit structure
This type of distributor adjusts the liquid load by setting multiple rows of overflow weirs at different heights on the side, achieving high elasticity, and pulling apart the lower guide plates left and right. This allows for a higher drip point density with fewer slots.
Weir and nozzle combination
Weir and nozzle combination unit
This combination can not only control a sufficiently high liquid level at the lower limit flow rate, but also meet the requirements of the upper limit flow rate without the need for a high liquid level on the distribution plate, thereby reducing the height of the entire distributor.
Combination of orifice and nozzle
Similarly, this combination can also form a high-performance high elasticity liquid distributor.
siphon
Operation principle of siphon type high elasticity liquid distributor
This distributor connects one end of the inverted U-shaped siphon tube to the upper side of the distribution tube, and the other end is open
