1) Expansion channel. When the heat transfer oil boiler is running, the volume of the heat transfer oil medium will expand significantly after being heated. Due to the fact that liquids are almost incompressible, if the heat transfer oil cannot expand freely when heated, the boiler and system equipment will be threatened by the huge internal pressure generated by the expansion of the heat transfer oil medium, which may damage the boiler and system equipment and cause safety accidents. Therefore, the thermal oil boiler system is equipped with an expansion oil tank. When the thermal oil is heated and expands, it flows towards the expansion oil tank through the expansion pipe to relieve pressure and maintain the normal operation of the boiler system.
2) Oil replenishment channel. When the heat transfer oil boiler runs out of oil, it will burn out the heating surface of the boiler, causing coking of the heat transfer oil, affecting normal operation and endangering safety issues. Therefore, the expansion oil tank must be replenished with heat transfer oil to the boiler system in a timely manner through the expansion pipe to ensure the normal operation of the boiler system.
3) Exhaust (steam) passage. During the heating process of the heat transfer oil boiler, various low boiling point substances contained in the heat transfer oil are gradually separated from the heat transfer oil in the form of gas, and water is also separated from the heat transfer oil in the form of water vapor. When the cooling water leaks into the operating heat transfer oil boiler system, it quickly separates from the heat transfer oil in the form of water vapor. Due to the fact that the connection point of the expansion tube is in the pressure area of the main circulation pipeline of the heat transfer oil boiler, a large number of gas bubbles generated during the separation of oil and gas (steam) rise from the expansion tube to the expansion oil tank to escape and relieve pressure. If the gas (vapor) cannot escape, the working pressure of the heat transfer oil boiler and system will greatly exceed its allowable value, and it will hinder normal operation, causing malfunctions.
3) Cold oil replacement channel. When the heat transfer oil boiler encounters a sudden power outage during operation, the stopped flow of heat transfer oil will continue to heat up under the action of furnace and coal waste heat, which may cause overheating, cracking and decomposition of carbon, and coking. In order to prevent the thermal oil from overheating and deteriorating, and to protect the heating surface of the boiler from damage, it is generally necessary to close the inlet and outlet valves of the boiler, and flow the cold oil in the expansion oil tank into the boiler through the expansion pipe or cold oil replacement pipe, replacing the hot oil to lower the furnace temperature, while the hot oil slowly enters the cold oil storage tank.
