Our low-temperature liquid oxygen storage tanks are all vacuum powder insulated cryogenic liquid containers. Its vacuum powder refers to pearl sand, scientific name expanded perlite. The pearl sand used by our company is inspected on-site at the supplier's site and has been evaluated and approved by the company's quality assurance system. Strictly control the various indicators such as bulk density, particle size, moisture content, thermal conductivity, and soluble matter content of the pearl sand used.
Before the pearl sand filling operation of low-temperature liquid oxygen storage tanks, nitrogen gas should be filled into the inner container for protection to prevent instability, and the pressure should be at the working pressure. But for low-temperature liquid oxygen storage tanks with a working pressure lower than 0.3 MPa, the nitrogen filling pressure is 0.3 MPa.
After the interlayer is evacuated to about -0.08 MPa, it begins to suck in pearl sand. In order to facilitate the filling of pearl sand, nitrogen gas not exceeding 0.02MPa should be introduced into the pearl sand material tank.
After filling the interlayer pearl sand to about 1/2 of the volume, use a pressure storage tank to dry nitrogen gas (or dry, oil-free compressed air) once after each filling of pearl sand. The operating pressure should be equal to the working pressure of the storage tank and not higher than 0.3 MPa, until it is compacted. During the filling and compaction process, a vibrator should also be installed on the upper part of the storage tank to achieve the desired level of compaction.
