Description :
Considerations in the Design and Manufacturing of Liquid Oxygen Storage Tanks
(1) Acquiring pressure vessels produced by units with corresponding design and production qualifications
(2) Before using pressure vessels, it is necessary to handle registration procedures and apply for a usage certificate. Otherwise, their use is prohibited.
(3) Liquid oxygen storage tanks and oxygen pipelines are equipped with discharge devices (valves, rupture disc equipment), whose discharge capacity is greater than or equal to the discharge capacity, to ensure that they do not exceed the pressure under their large steam inlet conditions. Valves, pressure gauges, volume gauges, and other accessories should be regularly calibrated. The oxygen pressure gauge is a dedicated pressure gauge and cannot be replaced by other pressure gauges. Valves are equipped in a regular manner, type, and specification, and are flexible and reliable.
(4) Gas cylinder filling units must obtain permission from the provincial special equipment supervision and management department before engaging in filling activities.
(5) The diameter, pipe material, valves, flanges, laying, and pressure testing of oxygen pipelines shall comply with the requirements of the "Design Code for Oxygen Stations" (GB 50030-91).
(6) In service pressure vessels should be inspected regularly in accordance with the rules of the "Technical Supervision Regulations for Pressure Vessels". For pressure vessels that do not meet the third level of supervision and application standards, they should be upgraded and treated during a major overhaul; Containers rated as Level 5 should be treated as invalid and must not be used continuously; When a pressure vessel that has been out of service for 2 years or more needs to be put back into use, it must undergo a re inspection and be recognized as qualified before it can be put into use.
(7) Liquid oxygen storage tanks are equipped with overpressure and high-level alarms.
(8) Based on the characteristics of the equipment and the actual situation of the system, formulate operating procedures for each pressure vessel. The emergency handling measures for abnormal working conditions should be clearly defined in the operating procedures to ensure that pressure vessels do not operate under overpressure or overheating conditions under any working conditions. Operators of pressure vessels should undergo training and hold certification before taking up their posts.
(9) When there is pressure inside the pressure vessel, any repair or fastening operations are prohibited.
(10) The liquid oxygen storage tank adopts lightning protection grounding to avoid explosion caused by lightning strikes.
(11) Before putting liquid oxygen storage tanks into use, strength tests, airtightness tests, rust removal, degreasing, blowing and cleaning must be conducted, and non combustible anti rust coatings must be applied to the inner walls.
(12) Liquid oxygen storage tanks are not allowed to be filled to capacity, and the filling amount should be 95% of the volume.
(13) It is prohibited to use liquid oxygen storage tanks at pressures exceeding the design pressure.
(14) The liquid oxygen storage tank adopts measures to avoid exposure to sunlight and rain.
(15) Regularly check the insulation method of the storage tank to avoid the loss of insulation function causing overpressure explosion of the liquid oxygen storage tank
