What should be noted for natural gas storage tanks
1. Gas cylinders should be placed in a well ventilated area, with a distance of no less than 1.5 meters from sources of fire and heat. Gas cylinders should not be baked with fire, boiled in water, or exposed to sunlight. Regularly check the airtightness of gas cylinder valves and pipeline joint numbers, and ensure that there is no air leakage. Generally, soap water is used to check for air leaks, and it is forbidden to use open flames to test for leaks.
2. When igniting, the ignition material should be lit first, and then the gas should be turned on. This sequence should not be reversed. During use, there should be someone watching over and not leaving to avoid water boiling over and causing explosions due to liquefied gas flow. After using the gas cylinder, close the valve tightly to avoid air leakage.
3. The liquefied gas in the gas cylinder should not be exhausted, and there should be residual pressure. The residual pressure should generally be greater than 49.03 kPa (i.e. 0.5 kg/cm2, gauge pressure) to avoid air entering the gas cylinder. After use, the residual liquid in the bottle is also a flammable substance and should not be poured out on its own to avoid fire caused by the flow and evaporation of residual liquid.
4. Gas cylinders are pressurized containers that require proper protection, maintenance, and regular inspection. During transportation and use, it is necessary to avoid falling or hitting the gas cylinder. It is forbidden to use iron tools to knock open the cylinder valve, and direct sunlight and long-term rain should be avoided. Gas cylinders are usually inspected once every two years.
5. Although the blasting scale of liquefied petroleum gas is not very wide, its lower limit is small, so it can be easily triggered in case of leakage. Also, because LPG is heavier than air, it flows downward when leaking in the air and tends to accumulate in low-lying areas, posing a risk of gas explosion. Therefore, in areas where gas leaks easily. Relying solely on windows for ventilation is not enough, and attention should also be paid to the ventilation in the lower part.
6. When liquefied gas leakage is found indoors, the doors and windows should be opened in a timely manner for ventilation, dispersing it in a direction without open flames. Hot work is prohibited in the vicinity until the fault is eliminated and its unique odor disappears before use. The waste liquid leaked on the ground should be covered with sand and removed to the local area. When a gas cylinder catches fire, the valve should be immediately closed and moved to a spacious outdoor area. Dry powder resuscitation agents, carbon dioxide resuscitation agents, or wet burlap bags should be used to revive it.
7. Children should be educated not to play with gas cylinders at will, and users should understand the knowledge of using gas cylinders.
