    Description :

Radiant pine is a tree species with fast growth rate, high yield, and wide applications. In recent years, New Zealand's exports of radial pine logs and sawn timber to China have significantly increased. In 2002, China's export volume of radiation pine logs exceeded 1.4 million cubic meters, about 90 million US dollars, and sawn timber exceeded 200000 cubic meters, nearly 40 million US dollars, setting a new historical high. The radiation pine in New Zealand has attracted the attention of many forestry personnel in our country.

New Zealand radiation pine, also known as New Zealand pine, is native to California and some islands. However, it did not grow well in its original location, with poor shape and slow growth rate, and has not received much attention from people. It entered New Zealand in the 19th century and has settled down due to the unique climate conditions on the island, growing exceptionally well. Through modern genetic breeding and intensive management techniques, the yield per unit area of radiation pine plantations in New Zealand has increased by 30% compared to 60 years ago. The radiation pine industry has become one of the pillar industries of the national economy, with forestry practitioners accounting for about 0.56% of the total population. In addition to New Zealand, radiation pine has also developed well in Australia, South Africa, Chile, and Spain.

Radiant pine is vertically distributed in the region of origin at an altitude of 0-330 meters. The main climate environment in the distribution area is humid, with an annual precipitation of 380 millimeters to 800 millimeters and an average annual temperature of 16.7 ℃ to 18.3 ℃. The cost requirement is a temperature of -6.7 ℃, with an ideal horizontal temperature of 43 ℃. There is no snow in all seasons and a frost free period of 300 days. From the situation of introduction and promotion in various countries, it can be seen that the adaptability range of Pinus radiata to climate is much wider than that of its original region. In areas with an average temperature of 12 ℃ to 20 ℃, reaching a temperature of 46 ℃, annual sunshine hours of more than 2000 hours, and annual precipitation of 600 mm to 1250 mm, the per capita growth of Pinus radiata can be affected (except for winter rain climate, average rain climate can also be used, in humid regions).
