    Description :

      Steel shot is a spherical particle made from special materials and subjected to special heat treatment. Steel shot can be divided into steel shot (with good toughness and a service life several times that of cast iron shot, widely used), cast iron shot (very brittle, very easy to break, short service life, not widely used, mainly used in places where high shot peening intensity is required), and glass shot (mainly used in stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, magnesium, and other situations where iron contamination is not allowed).

      The production process of steel shot:

      Firstly, high-quality steel blocks, wires, and steel shavings are melted, and then the molten steel is thrown into water by high-speed centrifugal forming using a centrifugal disk, causing the surface temperature of the steel shot to sharply decrease and form a shot body. This is a quenching process. After quenching, the shot is dried and reheated in the furnace to achieve the appropriate hardness. The tempered steel shot is sorted into different grades that meet SAE standards through a mechanical sieve for use in shot blasting equipment.

      The heat treatment control process endows the steel shot with elasticity and fatigue resistance. Steel shot with different particle sizes and hardness are suitable for different processes, such as shot peening for large-scale and heavy-duty components or materials.

      Steel shot is widely used for descaling and rust removal of steel workpieces before coating, in which centrifugal shot blasting equipment is often used. The spherical shape and lower hardness prevent the steel shot from causing significant wear on the equipment.

      Steel shot is also widely used for sand removal in castings.

      When used with appropriate equipment, steel balls are the abrasive for surface cleaning due to their durability.

      Applicable industrial scope

      Aviation industry; Automotive industry; Sandblasting/painting vendors; Consumer goods manufacturing; Container manufacturing/repair; Casting;

      Granite/stone cutting; Shipbuilding and ship repair; Oil and gas pipelines; Factory maintenance and metal processing.

      Applicable process scope

      Surface pretreatment before painting, sand removal, pipeline descaling, and strengthening

      Moderate hardness, strong toughness, impact resistance, long service life, up to 2000-2900 times, good rebound elasticity, fast cleaning speed, low consumption, no breakage, fast cleaning speed, good technical effect. The cleanliness of the metal surface treated by this product can reach GB/T8923-1989; The surface roughness reaches Rz=10-150 μ m, which increases the specific surface area of the metal surface and improves the surface adhesion of the coating after coating. It has significant economic benefits and is currently the most ideal metal abrasive for shot blasting cleaning and strengthening rust removal at home and abroad.
