Organosilicon defoamers have a wide range of applications and fields, and are used as defoamers in the fermentation industry. It is also used in textile, printing and dyeing, coatings, dyes, papermaking, ink, oil fields, sewage treatment and other fields. When used in printing and dyeing, it has good compatibility with additives in the dyeing bath, and does not affect the color light and color fastness.
There have been many literature reports on the use of organosilicon as a spray dye defoamer. The old dyeing process generally uses dimethyl polysiloxane defoamer to achieve satisfactory defoaming effect and ensure uniform dyeing. But the new dyeing process uses high-temperature and high-pressure machinery, in which the dye is sprayed and moved while being dyed. Although the generated foam can be defoamed by ordinary silicone defoamer, under high temperature and high pressure, ordinary siloxane defoamer will produce film like precipitation, which will cause stains. The application of block copolymers can overcome the above drawbacks, as these defoamer components can dissolve in cold water but not in hot water, thus exhibiting defoaming effects. However, the defoaming effect of using only this copolymer defoamer is not satisfactory. If a certain amount of misty SiO2 is added to the copolymer, satisfactory defoaming effect can be achieved and uniformly dyed fabrics can be produced. Used for defoaming in high-temperature dyeing and fermentation processes of polyester fabrics. In addition, it can also be used for defoaming of diethanolamine desulfurization system and various oil agents, cutting fluids, antifreeze liquids, water-based inks and other systems. It is also suitable for defoaming of uncured resin after photosensitive resin plate making in the printing industry. It is a representative, high-performance and widely used organic silicon defoamer.
