White carbon black is a very important reinforcing agent in the rubber industry. Currently, due to limitations in technology and production costs, precipitation method is mainly used in industrial applications. However, the effect of direct industrial application of white carbon black prepared by precipitation method is poor, and chemical modification treatment is usually required. At present, the main processes for chemical modification of white carbon black include surface grafting modification, coupling agent modification, ionic liquid modification, macromolecular interface modification, and combined modification. Although each modification process has its own advantages and characteristics, coupling agent modification is currently the main method used in industrial applications, while other modification processes have not yet achieved large-scale industrial applications due to factors such as production cost, modification effect, and product stability. With the development of technology and the international community's emphasis on green production, the position of high-performance white carbon black in the rubber industry will become increasingly important. Therefore, in addition to coupling agent modification processes, other modification processes such as ionic liquid modification with low pollution characteristics, combined modification of products with high performance characteristics, and other new modification processes will also be developed and improved to achieve high-performance green development of white carbon black industrial production.
