Sampling precautions 2:
① When packaging samples, they must be rinsed three times with water samples before sampling. The water sample used for washing should be discarded. To eliminate potential contamination. But the container for oil extraction cannot be flushed.
② The water sample used for measuring turbidity, suspended solids, etc. should be released from the sampler as soon as possible after collection. The sampler should be shaken while bottling to prevent suspended solids from settling inside the sampler. Non representative impurities such as leaves, rods, etc. should be removed from the sample.
③ During sampling, measures should be taken to prevent pollution caused by dust falling in the atmosphere at the sampling site. During sampling, vigorous agitation of the water body should be avoided, and agitation of the sediment should be avoided at all times. When manually collecting surface water samples using plastic buckets or sample bottles, the mouth of the sampling container should face the direction of the water flow.
④ When the capacity of the water sampler is limited and cannot complete sampling in one go, multiple samplings can be carried out. The collected water samples from each collection can be collected in a clean large container (glass bottle or polyethylene bucket with a capacity greater than 5L). The sample should be shaken thoroughly during packaging. Attention: Mixed samples are not suitable for measuring biochemical oxygen demand, oils, bacteriological indicators, sulfides, and other items with special requirements.
⑤ The water sample for measuring biochemical oxygen demand, pH value and other items must be filled with sample bottles during sampling to avoid interference from residual air on the measured items. Sample bottles for measuring other items should be filled with at least 10% of the container volume of water sample (or after sampling), and can generally be placed at the shoulder of the bottle to ensure sufficient shaking of the sample before analysis.
⑥ When packaging samples and adding preservatives, precautions should be taken to prevent possible contamination of the samples by the operating environment, especially for samples used to measure microbial substances. Special attention should be paid to prevent contamination of the sample bottle stopper (or cap). ⑦ All items that require on-site testing should be tested on-site.
