Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) refers to the amount of oxidizing agent consumed by reducing substances in water that are easily oxidized by strong oxidizing agents, converted to mg/L. Chemical oxygen demand reflects the degree of pollution caused by reducing substances in water, including organic matter, sub salts, ferrous salts, sulfides, etc. COD is one of the indicators for total emissions in China, which refers to the amount of oxidant consumed when treating water samples as an oxidant under strong acid and heating conditions, expressed in mg/L of oxygen.

Product Introduction
The chemical oxygen demand (COD) online analyzer is a fully automatic COD online analyzer based on the national standard method - determination of chemical oxygen demand using the dichromate method. The mixed solution formed by water samples under high temperature and high pressure environment (as a catalyst to oxidize linear aliphatic compounds more fully) undergoes redox reactions inside, during which Cr (VI) in the solution is reduced to Cr (III), resulting in a change in the color of the mixed solution. The degree of color change in the solution corresponds to the chemical oxygen demand (COD) of the water sample, and the instrument can directly measure the COD value of the water sample through optical signals. The chloride ions in the water sample are the main interfering substances, and the interference of chlorine can be eliminated by adding mercury content to chelate the chloride ions in the water sample.
