1) Environmental conditions for use: The sterilizer should be able to operate normally under the following conditions.
(1) The quality of incoming water
a. Chromaticity ≤ 15 degrees
b. Water temperature ≥ 5 ℃
c. Total coliform count ≤ 1000/L
d. Total bacterial count ≤ 2000/mL
(2) Air environment
Relative humidity in the air ≤ 90% (equivalent to air temperature of 20 ℃± 5 ℃)

2) Basic Technical Requirements for Medium Voltage Ultraviolet Disinfectors
(1) The design of the sterilizer should comply with the requirements of GB 8988 "Safety Requirements for Household and Similar General Purpose Electronic and Related Equipment Powered by Electric Power Supply";
(2) Disinfectors should be manufactured according to the approved drawings and technical documents in accordance with the technical management regulations and procedures;
(3) The interchangeability of components of the same type of sterilizer should be ensured;
(4) The surface of the sterilizer exposed to ultraviolet radiation should be polished;
(5) The working pressure of the pressure cylinder should not be less than 0.60MPa, and the test pressure should not be less than 0.90MPa;
(6) Guide plates should be installed inside the cylinder or box body;
(7) The installation requirements for straight tube quartz ultraviolet low-pressure mercury lamps and tubes should comply with YY/T0160 "Straight tube quartz ultraviolet low-pressure mercury disinfection lamps";
(8) When there are high requirements for the environment, it is advisable to prioritize the use of low ozone lamps to reduce ozone pollution to the environment;
(9) The arrangement of the lamp tube should ensure a uniform distribution of ultraviolet intensity on the surface exposed to ultraviolet radiation;
(10) The sterilizer should be equipped with a lamp ignition indicator, a cumulative ignition time indicator, or a relative indicator of ultraviolet radiation intensity;
(11) The lamp tube should be separated from water by a quartz glass sleeve, and the transmittance of 253.7mm ultraviolet rays through the quartz sleeve should be greater than 85%;
(12) The low-voltage electrical appliances used for disinfectors should meet the technical requirements of the corresponding products;
(13) The sterilizer should be equipped with inlet and outlet pipes, discharge pipes, and sampling pipes. When it is inconvenient to place the drain pipe in the sterilizer, it can also be installed on the connecting pipeline at the same location as the sterilizer;
(14) The specifications and inlet and outlet pipe diameters of the sterilizer should be selected according to the table;
(15) According to the inspection requirements of this standard, for disinfection products equipped with new lamps, the measured ultraviolet radiation dose shall not be less than 12000W · S/cm (filled with water), and for normal functioning disinfection products, the measured ultraviolet radiation dose shall not be less than 9000W · S/cm;
(16) According to the usage conditions of this standard, when working at the rated disinfection water volume, the bacteriological indicators of the effluent should comply with the requirements of GB5749 "Sanitary Standards for Drinking Water";
(17) The disinfectant material should comply with the requirements of GB/T17219 "Safety Evaluation Standards for Drinking Water Transmission and Distribution Equipment and Protective Materials". Disinfectors should use 304L and 316L stainless steel;
(18) The head loss of the sterilizer operating at the rated disinfection water volume should be less than 0.005MPa.
3) Appearance requirements
(1) The surface of the equipment should be sprayed evenly, with consistent color, and there should be no flow marks, bubbles, paint leakage, or peeling on the surface.
(2) The appearance of the equipment should be neat and beautiful, without obvious hammer marks or unevenness. The panel instruments, switches, indicator lights, and signs should be installed firmly and upright.
(3) The welding of the equipment casing and skeleton should be firm, without obvious deformation or burn through defects.
4) Key points of construction and installation
(1) It is not easy to install the ultraviolet generator on the outlet pipe close to the water pump to prevent damage to the quartz glass tube and lamp tube caused by water hammer when the pump is stopped.
(2) The ultraviolet generator should be installed strictly in the direction of water inlet and outlet.
(3) The ultraviolet generator should have a foundation that is not less than 100mm above the building floor.
(4) The ultraviolet generator and its connecting pipes and valves should be firmly fixed, and the ultraviolet generator should not bear the weight of the pipes and accessories.
(5) The installation of ultraviolet generators should be easy to disassemble, inspect and maintain, and materials that affect water quality and hygiene should not be used at all pipeline connections.
