    Description :

      Roller support, also known as roller support. Roller bearing is a commonly used form of support for large-span concrete bridges, steel bridges, and steel structures. Usually, several small diameter rollers are arranged in parallel and connected together, and the rotation of the rollers is used to adapt to the displacement needs of the beam. The number of roller shafts depends on the magnitude of the support reaction force, and the required diameter for a single roller shaft is determined based on the magnitude of the line contact stress. Install arc-shaped supports at the top of a set of roller shafts to ensure that the beam ends can rotate freely. The support base plate under the roller shaft must have a certain degree of rigidity to ensure the flatness of the support base plate. Usually, the roller shaft is made of high-strength forged steel (35 or 45 steel) to reduce its diameter and the height of the entire support.       In order to save steel and reduce the length of the support, both sides of the roller shaft can be cut off, but it is important to ensure that the roller shaft being cut can still adjust the required displacement without overturning during design. In order to ensure the relative position between each roller shaft, connecting rods are usually installed at the center of both ends of the roller shaft to make each roller shaft rotate parallel.

      Roller shaft support is a type of support that belongs to line contact. This type of support is a unidirectional structure that supports vertical forces on both flat and cylindrical surfaces. Therefore, it is not suitable for use in upper and lower structures that require rotation in the transverse direction of the bridge. According to the form of its contact mechanism, linear contact supports can generally be divided into two types: plane and cylinder combination supports and plane and tangent cylinder combination supports. Plane and cylinder combination supports are unidirectional movable supports that use multiple cylinders, known as roller supports (Figure 3-62). Roller bearings are generally used on bridges with high reaction forces and large displacement, but due to their high height and complex structure, maintenance is difficult. Therefore, stainless steel is usually preferred as the material used for the drum and its corresponding pressure bearing components.
