      Type of two-component polyurethane sealant:

      Polyurethane sealant is generally divided into two types: single component polyurethane sealant and two-component polyurethane sealant. Single component polyurethane sealant is moisture cured, while two-component polyurethane sealant is reaction cured. Single component sealant is easy to apply, but it cures slowly; Two component polyurethane sealant has the characteristics of fast curing and good performance, but when used, it needs to be formulated according to whether it has fluidity. Polyurethane sealant can be divided into non sagging and self leveling types. Non sagging type is used for vertical surfaces, inclined surfaces, ceilings, etc. It will not deviate, slide or flow due to the self weight of the adhesive strip before curing; The self leveling two-component polyurethane sealant is specifically designed for horizontal applications. According to the properties after use, it can also be divided into non dry type, semi dry type, and fully cured elastic type.

      Construction method of two-component polyurethane sealant:

      1. Process flow of two-component polyurethane sealant: Base surface acceptance → 1:2 mixing ratio of group A and group B → node additional layer treatment → one-time brushing → longitudinal and transverse brushing until the thickness is the design thickness → inspection → acceptance.

      2. The specific ratio of two-component polyurethane sealant shall be subject to the manufacturer's regulations, generally A: B=1:2. The A and B materials shall be strictly mixed in a mixing bucket according to the ratio, and can be used after being stirred evenly by mechanical stirring method. The general mechanical stirring time is about 5 minutes.

      3. The two-component polyurethane sealant used for coating the waterproof layer should be used up within 2 hours after on-site preparation. During the construction process, it is necessary to use and prepare according to the engineering quantity and coating progress, in order to avoid waiting for too long after preparation and reacting and solidifying into blocks in the mixing tank.

      4. Two component polyurethane sealant can be used with a long brush or rubber plastic scraper. Use a long brush for larger areas and a scraper for smaller areas. The coating thickness should be consistent. The thickness of each coating should not exceed 0.7mm. After one coating, it generally needs to be cured for more than 4 hours. When the coating is basically not sticky to the hands, apply two more coatings. The same applies to increasing the number of coatings in the future. In order to allow capillary pores in any direction of the base layer to penetrate into the coating and to achieve uniform coating thickness, the direction between each adjacent layer of coating should be perpendicular to each other.

      5. When applying layer by layer, attention should be paid to applying moderate force, without leaking or accumulating.

      Application of two-component polyurethane sealant:

      The main uses of two-component polyurethane sealant are in the civil engineering and construction industry, transportation industry, etc. In Japan, about 75-80% of two-component polyurethane sealants are used in construction, 15% in automotive and machinery manufacturing, and 5% in civil engineering and other fields.
