The physical and mechanical properties of steel fiber reinforced concrete are specifically manifested in:
1. Has high tensile, bending, shear, and torsional strength
Adding an appropriate amount of steel fibers to concrete can increase its compressive strength by 10% to 80% (with a significant increase in C50 and above concrete), tensile strength by 50% to 99%, flexural strength by 50% to 80%, and shear strength by 50% to 99%. Experiments have shown that the compressive strength of ultra short steel fibers with a length of 5-15mm and a length to diameter ratio of 10-30 is significantly improved compared to short fibers, but their tensile strength and flexural strength are much lower.
2. Has impact resistance performance
The performance of a material in resisting impact or vibration loads is called impact toughness. Under the usual fiber content in JT/T "Steel Fiber" for highway cement concrete fiber materials, the impact compressive toughness can be increased by 2-7 times, and the impact bending and tensile toughness can be increased by several times to tens of times.
3. Significant improvement in shrinkage performance
Under normal fiber content, the shrinkage value of steel fiber reinforced concrete is reduced by 7% to 9% compared to ordinary concrete.
4. Significant improvement in fatigue resistance performance
The bending and compressive fatigue performance of steel fiber reinforced concrete is significantly improved compared to ordinary concrete. When 1.5% steel fiber is added and the bending fatigue life is 1 × 106 times, the stress ratio is 0.68, while ordinary concrete is only 0.51; When the compressive fatigue life of concrete mixed with 2% steel fiber reaches 2 × 106 times, the stress ratio is 0.92, while that of ordinary concrete is only 0.56.
5. The durability performance has significantly improved.
