　　Mobilgrease 28 is a high-performance, wide temperature, and wear-resistant lubricant designed to combine the unique functionality of poly alpha olefin (PAO) synthetic base fluid with organic clay (non soap) thickeners. The viscosity is between NLGI No.1 and No.2 lubricating grease. It has excellent performance over a wide temperature range. The wax free properties of synthetic base oil and its high viscosity index compared to mineral oil can provide excellent low-temperature pumping performance, extremely low starting and operating torque, and help reduce the operating temperature of the load area of rolling bearings. The clay thickener increases the drop point value of Mobil grease 28 to 300oC, providing excellent stability at high temperatures. Mobilgrease 28 is water-resistant, provides excellent load-bearing capacity, reduces frictional resistance, and prevents excessive wear. Tests have shown that Mobilgrease 28 can effectively lubricate rolling bearings under high-speed and high temperature conditions. Mobil grease 28 also has excellent lubrication ability, which can lubricate heavy-duty sliding mechanisms such as wing flap screw jacks. For over 30 years, Mobilgrease 28 has been a multi-purpose lubricant for global and related aviation applications.

To meet this demand combination, ExxonMobil's product formulation scientists chose Mobilgrease 28 synthetic hydrocarbon base oil because of their low volatility, excellent heat/oxidation resistance, and outstanding low-temperature performance. The formula designer selected specific thickening agent chemical components and some additive combinations to help fully leverage the advantages of synthetic base oils.

The recommended operating temperature range is -54oC to 177oC (-65oF to 350oF), with appropriate lubrication intervals. Mobilgrease 28 is recommended for use in landing wheel assemblies, control systems and actuators, screw jacks, servo equipment, sealed bearing motors, swing bearings, and helicopter rotor bearings for civil aircraft. After approval by the equipment manufacturer, it can also be used for marine auxiliary equipment, and in places where recommended specifications have replaced MIL-G-81322 (WP), MIL-G-7711A, MIL-G-3545B, and MIL-G-25760A. Mobilgrease 28 is also recommended for industrial lubrication, including sealed or repackagable ball and roller bearings, which are suitable for extreme temperature conditions, high speeds, or washable situations. Typical industrial applications include conveyor bearings, small AC generator bearings operating at temperatures close to 177oC (350oF), high-speed miniature ball bearings, and bearing applications that can cause problems with oscillatory motion and vibration.
