Introduction to the Hot Filling Machine Process for Juice and Tea Beverages
Juice and tea beverages are usually filled using two methods: high-temperature hot filling and cold aseptic fillingDue to various constraints, domestic enterprises generally adopt the former. The process requirements for making juice and tea beverages are strict. From the comprehensive comparison of PET bottle filling technology, production line operability, beverage quality, etc., choosing hot filling process is more economical and reliable. Hot filling requires juice and tea beverages to be maintained at a constant temperature between 85 ℃ and 95 ℃ after being subjected to UHT instantaneous ultra-high temperature, and to be filled in a short period of time, which belongs to high-temperature filling. Generally, carbonated carbonated beverages are filled in a positioning or quantitative manner, and there is always a certain distance between the material and the bottle mouth. Juice and tea beverages, especially those produced with original flavor, require full mouth filling of materials, that is, filling until the bottle is full, so as to minimize residual air in the bottle and ensure that the beverage itself is not easily oxidized, thereby maintaining its quality for a long time. Due to the need for high-temperature filling and full mouth filling functions in hot filling, an automatic circulation system is required to facilitate low-temperature material circulation heating and CIP circulation cleaning.
Hot filling should have the following functions:
Bottle mouth filling and conveying. When heat-resistant PET bottles are filled at high temperatures, the biaxially stretched PET will shrink when heated, with a shrinkage rate of generally 1% to 3%. However, the strength of the bottleneck area requires the use of a reasonable positioning method for the bottle neck during filling to avoid deformation of the bottle body due to external forces. At the same time, the fully filled beverage is conveyed through the bottle mouth, which can prevent the bottle body from being affected by vibration and the overflow of squeezed materials.
Full mouth filling. At present, there are two commonly used filling methods for hot filling machines in China. One is similar to the models of TECH-ITAL and PROCO MAC companies in Italy, where the inlet and reflux channels of the filling valve are opened and closed step by step; Another type is similar to models from Taiwanese companies, where the inlet and return channels of the filling valve are opened and closed synchronously. On the basis of fully digesting and absorbing foreign technologies, we have developed and designed a hot filling machine filling valve by drawing on the strengths of others. There are two material filling ports for the filling valve, located at the bottom of the valve core, so that the head of the valve core occupies very little space at the bottle mouth. During filling, the filling valve is inserted into the interior of the bottle mouth. When filling is about to end, due to the step-by-step and sequential closure of the inlet and reflux channels of the filling valve, the volume occupied by the valve is replenished by the beverage in the reflux channel. This way, the entire bottle can be filled with beverage, that is, full mouth filling. Similarly, our filling valve requires adjusting the sealing gasket to achieve liquid level filling.
