If a small excavator is idle in winter, it should be properly stored and maintained. It can only be effective when used again, and the specific maintenance measures are as follows:

　　1. Clean the soil on the surface of the small excavator and check for loose fasteners.

　　2. Check whether the antifreeze level and oil level are normal, check whether the oil quality is normal, and check the antifreeze level of the fuel.

　　If the weather is particularly cold and the small excavator has a long downtime, please drain the engine coolant completely. At the same time, to prevent battery feeding, the battery must be removed and stored in a warm place.

　　4. Start the engine and run it once after a certain period of time. If the antifreeze level and oil level are lower than the normal level, please add them to the normal level in a timely manner before starting. In cold weather, place the key in the preheating position until the preheating light is on (perform multiple repetitions of preheating), then start the engine, idle for 5-10 minutes, and operate each cylinder 5-10 times without load, each time 5-10MM smaller than the stroke. Quickly operate each cylinder 5-10 times with the engine speed, and operate left and right rotation and forward and backward walking 3 times each. Until the system temperature rises to 50-80 degrees, it can operate normally. Continue to operate all working devices for 5-10 minutes before stopping the engine.

　　5. Diesel fuel should be replaced with -10 to -30 models, depending on the region. The further north the region is, more diesel fuel should be added. In addition, the diesel filter should be replaced, and the oil should be replaced with locally applicable thickened oil. The oil filter should also be replaced. If there is oil leakage in the hydraulic system, it should be replaced in a timely manner. If conditions permit, the fuel tank should be well insulated.

　　6. The cooling system should be carefully checked for aging and breakage of the rubber hoses. If there are any problems, they should be replaced in a timely manner because these areas are more prone to problems in winter. If conditions permit, provide hot water and heat the water tank daily to better start the engine, but be sure not to forget to drain the water. The reason why it is not recommended to add antifreeze is because it is more difficult to start the engine in particularly cold areas.
