　　ADSS optical cables use different sheaths for different power lines, and there are two common types of ADSS sheaths: PE sheath and AT sheath. PE sheath: ordinary polyethylene sheath. Used for power lines below 110KV. AT sheath: anti tracking sheath, used for power lines above 100KV. Due to the fact that ADSS optical cables are connected to high-voltage power lines, their surface not only requires resistance to ultraviolet radiation like ordinary optical cables, but also needs to withstand the test of high-voltage and strong electrical environments for a long time. The capacitive coupling between optical cables, high-voltage phase lines, and the ground will generate different spatial potentials on the surface of the optical cable. Under the influence of meteorological conditions such as rain, snow, frost, and dust, the potential difference causes local leakage current on the wet and polluted surface of the optical cable. The resulting thermal effect evaporates the moisture in some areas of the surface of the optical cable. At the moment of evaporation, the leakage current is interrupted, resulting in an arc and a large amount of heat energy. The accumulated heat energy will burn the surface of the optical cable, forming tree like marks, which are called electric traces.
