This transparent resin can be customized in color to minimize attenuation and also has excellent high temperature resistance. The dimensional stability performance ensures that the optical fiber is well docked inside the connector, thereby eliminating the need for maintenance or replacement.
Ultem resin has high flow characteristics, enabling high productivity injection molding of connectors. Due to the fact that single piece design does not require additional assembly, it can further reduce system costs. The simplicity of connectors can also help simplify installation and avoid multi-point failures commonly seen in traditional four or five piece designs. In addition, connectors made of Ultem resin can be used with glass or plastic optical fibers.
