Criteria for determining valve internal leakage
1. The method for determining valve leakage is to use an infrared thermometer to measure the metal temperature of the valve stem (near the valve body) or 150mm downstream of the valve body 4-6 hours after the valve is closed. If it is greater than 70 ℃, it is considered as "internal leakage". This judgment method is applicable to most internal leakage valves.
But in practical work, we encountered the following special situations:
(1) Due to the installation location of the pipeline, there may be high-temperature steam disturbance in front and behind some valves, such as the drain valve or sewage valve connected to the pressure relief and discharge main pipe. Even if these valves are tight and leak free, their valve stem temperature will exceed 70 ℃.
(2) When the drain valve or sewage valve is connected side by side to the drain and discharge main pipe, and the last valve position is close to the main pipe, if any branch valve in the pipeline leaks, the temperature of other valves will rise to over 70 ℃, such as boiler drain valve, superheated steam drain, etc. Therefore, other methods should also be used to determine the internal leakage of these valves, such as measuring the temperature of the pipe wall in front of the valve or measuring the temperature of the valve stem in front of the valve to determine the internal leakage situation.
2. If the operator confirms or suspects that the valve is leaking, they must notify the maintenance personnel to be present for confirmation. After confirming with the maintenance personnel that it is leaking, the defect can be registered, and the name of the maintenance personnel should be recorded in the defect information.
3. When there is a disagreement between the operating personnel and the maintenance personnel regarding whether the valve has internal leakage, the following table should be used for confirmation. If there is still a disagreement, the equipment management department's inspection personnel should be notified to be present for judgment, and the final decision shall be made by the supervisor of the comprehensive department.
