The mechanical properties of PA with a suitable wall thickness of 2-3.5mm, such as tensile and compressive strength, vary with temperature and moisture absorption. Therefore, water is a plasticizer for PA. After adding fiberglass, its tensile and compressive strength can be increased by about 2 times, and its temperature resistance can also be correspondingly improved. PA itself has a very high wear resistance, so it can be operated continuously without lubrication. If you want to achieve special lubrication effects, sulfides can be added to PA.

The main drawbacks of PA performance
1. Easy to absorb water. High water absorption, with saturated water reaching over 3% To a certain extent, it affects the dimensional stability and electrical performance, especially the thickening of thin-walled parts, which has a significant impact; Water absorption can also greatly reduce the mechanical strength of plastics. When selecting materials, consideration should be given to the impact of the usage environment and the precision of coordination with other components. Fiber reinforcement can reduce the water absorption rate of resin, allowing it to work under high temperature and high humidity conditions. Nylon has excellent affinity with fiberglass. Commonly used for making combs, toothbrushes, clothes hooks, fan bones, mesh bag ropes, fruit outer packaging bags, and so on. Non toxic, but should not be in long-term contact with acid or alkali. It is worth noting that after adding fiberglass, the tensile strength of nylon can be increased by about 2 times, and the temperature resistance can also be correspondingly improved
2. Poor light resistance. In long-term high temperature environments, it will undergo oxidation with oxygen in the air, initially turning brown in color and causing the surface to break and crack.
3. Injection molding technology has strict requirements: the presence of trace amounts of moisture can cause significant damage to the molding quality; Due to thermal expansion, the dimensional stability of the product is difficult to control; The presence of sharp corners in the product can lead to stress concentration and reduce mechanical strength; Uneven wall thickness can cause distortion and deformation of the component; High precision is required for equipment during post-processing of finished products.
4. Will absorb water and alcohol and swell, not resistant to strong acids and oxidants, and cannot be used as acid resistant materials.
