      SVGreactive power compensator

      I. Overview

      SVG is a typical power electronic device, consisting of three basic functional modules: detection module, control operation module, and compensation output module. Its working principle is based on the current information from the external CT detection system, which is then analyzed by the control chip to obtain the current information, such as PF, S, Q, etc; Then, the controller provides a compensating driving signal, and the inverter circuit composed of power electronic inverter circuit emits a compensating current. The advanced SVG product is STATCOM - Static Synchronous Reactive Power Compensator. The SVG static reactive power generator uses switchable power electronic devices (IGBT) to form a self commutation bridge circuit, which is connected in parallel to the power grid through a reactor. The amplitude and phase of the AC output voltage of the bridge circuit are appropriately adjusted, or its AC current is directly controlled. Quickly absorb or emit the required reactive power to achieve rapid dynamic adjustment of reactive power. As an active compensation device, it can not only track the impulse current of impulse loads, but also track and compensate for harmonic currents.
