Since its inception, PET sheets have been widely used in the synthetic fiber industry due to their excellent fiber forming properties. In the plastic industry, they were initially limited to the production of biaxially oriented films and later widely used in hollow containers. PET drying free single screw processing
PET is a high polymer that is easy to absorb water. When completely dry PET slices are placed in the air, the water absorption can reach 500ppm within 30 minutes. The equilibrium water absorption rate of general slices is 0.4%. Such a high water content during melt processing can cause severe hydrolysis of PET melt, rendering the product useless. There are two states of water in PET slices: adsorbed and bound. The proportion of water belonging to Di He is about 0.02%, and the adsorbed water can be removed at 120 ℃. Di He's water can only be removed at 140 ℃. However, once PET is melted, the hydrolysis of the melt is intense within the first 5 minutes and gradually becomes gentle thereafter.
