Fin radiator is an important and basic component in hot water (steam) heating systems. Fin radiator is a widely used heat transfer device in gas and liquid heat exchange; It achieves the purpose of enhancing heat transfer by adding fins on ordinary base pipes. The base pipe can be made of steel pipes, stainless steel pipes, copper pipes, etc., and the fins can also be made of steel strips, stainless steel strips, aluminum sheets, etc.




The liquid or steam flows inside the finned tube heat exchanger, while the gas flows outside the tube. Both enter the heat exchanger in a countercurrent manner for heat exchange; As shown in the figure, hot water flows inside the pipe and air flows outside the pipe. The heat of hot water is transferred to the cold air outside the pipe through the pipe wall. Due to the convective heat transfer coefficient of 5000W/m2 ℃ in the pipe, while the convective heat transfer coefficient of air is about 20W/m2 ℃, the "heat transfer capacity" of the air side is much lower than that of the water side. Therefore, increasing the heat transfer area (i.e. fins) on the air side greatly improves the heat transfer efficiency on the air side.
