      Advantages of using cedar stakes

      The pile driving machinery used for piling timber includes hand cranked winches and diesel pile drivers, and hydraulic excavators are also commonly used for piling timber.

      When a hydraulic excavator is used for pile driving, two people are needed to fix the pile in place, then flip the excavation bucket and press the pile into the foundation to stabilize it at a certain depth. Then, the pile is released and the pine pile is pressed down by the excavator. Generally, one pile is driven every 3-5 minutes for higher efficiency.

      In order to improve the compaction effect and bearing capacity of the foundation, piles must be driven into the inner ring from around the foundation.

      It is better to arrange the pile body in a plum shape, and the distance between piles should not be less than 3 times the pile diameter.

      After pile driving is completed, the pile heads should be sawn flat according to the design elevation, so that the top of each pile is basically kept at the same horizontal plane. The silt squeezed out during pile driving should be cleared. A 20-30cm thick graded sand and gravel cushion layer should be laid on the top of the pine pile and compacted, and then the bottom concrete should be poured to ensure that a part of the load is transmitted to the soil between the piles through the cushion layer, and the sharing effect between the piles and the soil should be adjusted.

      Setting up a cushion layer under the foundation can reduce the pile-soil stress ratio and fully develop the role of the soil between piles. By increasing the β value, the stress concentration on the bottom surface of the economic foundation can be reduced.

      By changing the thickness of the cushion layer, the thinner the cushion layer, the higher the percentage of bearing capacity, and vice versa.

      If there is no cushion layer, the soil between the piles cannot be fully utilized.
